The Advanced Rules Engine is where a lot of the work behind the scenes gets done in any given Location.

Very simply, it's the way we instruct our sensor network to perform in customizable ways. It's probably easier to mention all of the ways it is not able to be used, as opposed to expressing all the combinations that you can set up!

This portion of the Hearo software is what sets us apart in a variety of ways; offering a bespoke experience, able to be utilized to ensure your Locations are operating in exactly the manner you'd prefer. The name of the game here is flexibility, and with the Advanced Rules Engine you are given every tool at our disposal.

We are continually considering ways to innovate and improve upon the functionality and design of the Rules Engine; with our ability to update our Dashboard and software in-house we will always ensure you're able to enjoy the latest fruits of our labor!

It consists of Triggers, Conditions, and Actions.

Adding a New Rule

Triggers can be thought of as "ORs"; for example, either Trigger A or Trigger B or Trigger C will result in… whichever action(s) you choose.

Conditions can be thought of as "ANDs"; for example, when Trigger A activates, AND Conditions Y and Z activate, the following Actions will occur. Conditions are limiting factors, and whenever implemented in a new Rule, need be met (each and every, if there are multiple) in order for the prescribed Action to take place.

Actions are the end result of this equation. One Trigger can equal one (or multiple) Actions. One Trigger, plus three particular Conditions that must be necessarily met, can equal one (or multiple) Actions.

A straightforward example of a Rule that may be widely instituted, say, as a standard security measure, could be:

"Whenever the Bedroom Window or Front Door is open at Location XYZ, during the overnight hours of 11 p.m. - 4:30 a.m., I'd like to be notified via a text message, have my notification bulb illuminate to a red color, and lastly have my chime play a loud tone that I will recognize. This will indicate that something is awry, and that I need to have my wits about me."

Any Rule can be tied to an Emergency Event as well, meaning any particular Rule that executes can notify Remote Supports with an Emergency Banner on their Hearo Remote Supports Dashboard, no matter where on the site they are currently navigating. This ensures the fastest possible response to an event designated as an Emergency. It will prompt Remote Supports to call into an Individual's/Location's tablet to check on whatever the situation may be.
